This rug is made with 100-percent wool. Colors include ivory tan gold red beige brown and blue.Story Behind the Art:This rug was created by village weavers in the Varanasi region of India in the Bhadohi village. The inspiration for the design of this rug originated in Isfahan Iran which is a province well known for their rug designs and colors. Rugs from Isfahan feature a variety of fascinating themes such as floral designs gardens full of animals and intricate medallions. The weaving technique is hand-tufted which is a rug making process where weavers insert yarn into the rug backing with a hand held tufting gun to push and pull the threads through a pre-woven grid foundation. In a tufted rug the tops of the loops are sheared to expose the ends of the threads for a softer plusher pile. This rug was created in the Varanasi region of India in the Bhadohi village. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come.
