This rug is a unique piece of world art that will enhance your living space. Kerman produces highly distinctive carpets primarily in highly floral medallion or all over designs. During the 16th and 17th century these rugs were made by village weavers for the royal family commissioned by the king and this is why they are called the ‘Royal Kermans’. The rug is 100 percent wool. The knot count is 200. The pile height is 0.25 inches. Colors include ivory grey green gold red and navy.Story Behind the Art:This particular rug was made in the 1940’s by village weavers in Kerman which is a well known rug weaving province in Iran. The process of rug making includes cleaning washing and dyeing the wool and then weaving the rug with vegetable-dyed wool. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come.
